We are thrilled to introduce Carma Flaig as the new Program Manager for Heartland Training & Support Hub’s Safety Smarts program! 🎉
Carma has been an integral part of our organization for over 11 years, serving as our bookkeeper and providing invaluable support behind the scenes. Her dedication and expertise have been a cornerstone of our operations, and we are excited to see her take on this new role.
About Carma
Carma was born in Brooks, AB, and raised in Lethbridge and Calgary. With a family background in farming—her grandfather was a dairy farmer in Rosemary and later a cattle rancher in Claresholm—Carma has deep ties to rural Alberta.
After marrying her husband Larry 39 years ago, they built a life together, moving from Calgary to Raymond in 2008. Carma’s professional journey spans over 30 years in financial management, retail sales, and business ownership, including co-owning a nut and candy store and managing Hallmark stores in Calgary.
In September 2024, Carma stepped into the role of Safety Smarts Program Manager, bringing her wealth of experience, passion for rural communities, and enthusiasm for learning new things to the forefront.
